Fix Annoying Chirping Sears or Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Replacement Battery

Fix Annoying Chirping Sears or Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Replacement Battery

If you hear a periodic beep in your garage like a smoke detector, it's probably your garage door opener telling you to replace the battery which will open up the door in case of a power failure. The status display will tell you to replace the battery. It took about 3 man hours of research to track down the replacement battery, so here it is. The short answer is Sears Part# is 41A822, but it is the same as Chamberlain 4228 which can be found on Amazon. Big box hardware stores don't stock the part - even online they can be out of stock, but the part can be found in most Radio Shack stores without shipping or delay..

the one I have looks like this:

Home Depot is out of stock, but here is one review:
After several days of chirping, no amount was too much. When the company did not respond right away, I viewed a video on the internet and ordered the part from Home Depot. Just remove the cover, remove the screws, take out the old battery, put in the new and your're done. About 5 minutes from start to finish. Only tool needed was the screwdriver out of my toolkit.
